Decorating with Peggy Karr Glass -- Make A Statement

Tuesday, October 28, 2008
One of the great things about Peggy Karr Glass is that it is very user-friendly.
All items are food-safe and can be washed in the dishwasher. So if you are using your collection at holiday times, don't hesitate to just pile it into the dishwasher. Keep in mind that harsh detergents may cause hazing over time, just like with any other fine china.
Peggy Karr Glass plates, platters and bowls are also microwave-warming safe. It is our recommendation that you NOT use them for microwave cooking, since the very high temperatures generated by microwave cooking may cause breakage.
If you have a table and tablebase, you don't need to be overly careful about leaving it outdoors in moderate weather. If you live in a very cold climate, it would probably be best to bring it in during the freezing winter months. The tablebases are powder-coated to withstand the elements, but if they get nicked or scratched you can touch them up with regular acrylic spray paint to protect the underlying metal.

A Factory Update
To put a face on what might seem like anonymous activity, we thought we'd let you know what some of us are actually filling our days with ---- Our decorators, or enamellers as they are known here, often arrive at work at 6am, which gives them an opportunity to be home for those important after-school activities. During the busy holiday season they often put in overtime hours. And when the decorators are very busy it means all our support staff of kiln operators and glass cutters and shippers and customer service also put in extra time.
By the time Christmas week is upon us we are all totally ready for a long-deserved break during our shut-down between Christmas and New Years.
What Do You Want?
Since not everyone that posts to here can be emailed back directly, we thought we'd answer a few of your questions right here with this simple statement: Keep on checking for new releases once January is upon us -- we are planning on releasing some of the items people have asked for during this past year. Which ones are still up in the air, but we're working on it!
Welcome!
Sometime soon, we'll post some employee profiles, along with their personal picks.
